A guy from Tamil Nadu was arrested for saying the BJP needs to stage riots for support

Tamil Nadu Police took swift action by arresting a member of a right-wing group following his alleged incendiary remarks suggesting that the BJP could only gain a foothold in the state through the provocation of riots.

The individual in question, Udaiyar, who holds the position of deputy head in the Hindu Makkal Katchi, was apprehended on Tuesday night after an audio clip circulated widely, capturing his contentious statement purportedly made during a conversation with Tirunelveli BJP chief Tamilchelvan.

In the audio, Udaiyar purportedly asserted, "... Can they buy votes or do they dare to hit someone? Only if riots are instigated, the BJP can set foot here."

This arrest comes in the wake of BJP's lackluster performance in Tamil Nadu during the Lok Sabha elections, where they failed to secure any seats. The resounding victory of Chief Minister MK Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), along with its INDIA bloc ally Congress, underscored the prevailing political dynamics in the southern state.

The swift response from the authorities underscores a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of incitement or divisive rhetoric, reinforcing the importance of upholding law and order and preserving communal harmony in Tamil Nadu.
