Accountant from Maharashtra murdered in building fire in Kuwait; mortal remains arrive today



Denny Baby Karunakaran, a 33-year-old from Virar in Maharashtra, tragically lost his life in a devastating fire that swept through a building housing foreign workers in Kuwait. Denny, who had familial roots in Kerala, worked as an accountant and sales coordinator at a private firm in Kuwait for the past four years.

The fire incident, which occurred on Wednesday, claimed the lives of at least 49 people, with 45 of them being Indians. Denny is survived by his parents and an elder sister, whose husband also works in Kuwait. His family had been residing in Virar, Maharashtra, for over three decades.

The mortal remains of all 45 Indians who perished in the fire were brought back to India on a special Indian Air Force plane. Denny's family had traveled to Kerala and were en route to Mumbai to receive his mortal remains. His cremation is scheduled to take place on Saturday morning at the Peniel Assembly of God Church in the Malvani area of Malad West, Mumbai.

Among the victims of this tragic incident, 23 were from Kerala, seven from Tamil Nadu, three from Andhra Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Odisha, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana, Punjab, and West Bengal. The entire nation mourns the loss of these individuals in this heartbreaking event.
