Actor Darshan threatened a businessman and a DJ at a Mysuru pub, as seen on camera

A viral video of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has surfaced, showing him threatening and abusing a businessman named Yeshwant and a DJ at a pub in Mysuru. The incident, which occurred on February 26 last year, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the choice of songs to be played at the venue.

The altercation began when Yeshwant, who was celebrating his wife's birthday, requested the DJ to play songs of the late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. This request allegedly provoked Darshan and his aides, who insisted that only songs from Darshan's movies should be played. The situation quickly escalated, with the actor and his group reportedly abusing and threatening both Yeshwant and the DJ, as depicted in the video.

An FIR was initially registered against Darshan’s aides, but no formal charges were filed against Darshan at that time. However, police later confirmed that Darshan was indeed involved in the altercation.

In a separate development, Darshan was arrested on June 11 in connection with the murder of his 33-year-old fan Renukaswamy. Renukaswamy, an autorickshaw driver and a member of Darshan's fan club, was kidnapped from Chitradurga district on June 8 after allegedly sending derogatory messages to Darshan's friend, Pavithra Gowda. His body was later discovered near Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru.

Sources revealed that Darshan was at a pub in Bengaluru on the day of Renukaswamy's murder and subsequently went to the location where Renukaswamy was allegedly kidnapped and tortured before his death. A post-mortem report indicated that Renukaswamy had been tortured and given electric shocks before dying.

As of now, 19 people, including Darshan and Gowda, have been arrested in connection with the murder case.
