A woman was deboarded from an Akasa Air flight in Lucknow, which was headed to Mumbai, for misbehaving with the crew and fellow passengers. The situation escalated when she attempted to re-enter the aircraft forcibly and bit a security staffer's hand. This incident occurred after she had been removed from the plane for causing disturbances and arguments with other passengers, which created chaos on board.
According to Lucknow Joint Police Commissioner Akash Kulhari, the woman's mental condition appeared to be unstable, leading her to pick fights with other passengers. Complaints from the passengers led the crew to take action and deboard her. Despite this, the woman refused to leave peacefully and tried to get back on the plane by force. In the process, she physically clashed with a security guard and bit his hand. The situation necessitated police intervention, and the woman was handed over to the authorities by female airline staff.
A case has been registered under Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace and public tranquillity. Joint CP Kulhari noted that the woman's mental stability could only be confirmed through a medical examination, which would provide further clarity on her condition.
