After metal from the canopy shed at the Jabalpur airport fell on the car, it was damaged

A metal structure collapsed and fell onto a parked car at Dumna Airport in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday, causing severe damage to the vehicle. The incident occurred as the car, which had arrived at the airport to drop off a passenger, was parked at the designated drop-and-go site.

Fortunately, both the passenger and the driver had exited the car just moments before the collapse happened.

Reports indicate that a section of the canopy tent, installed outside the main gate of the airport terminal to shield from rainwater, collapsed due to the accumulation of rainwater itself, leading to the collapse of the iron structure onto the parked vehicle.

Following the incident, the director of Dumna Airport has initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the structural collapse. Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh, speaking to India Today, assured that a detailed report on the accident will be compiled. He also mentioned that new guidelines will be formulated to prevent such incidents in the future.
