After MP Asaduddin Owaisi's Delhi home was vandalized, a case was filed

Delhi Police have registered a case following a complaint by Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Hyderabad MP, regarding an act of vandalism at his residence in Delhi.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening, where unidentified individuals smeared black ink on the nameplate of Owaisi's house located at 34 Ashoka Road. Additionally, pro-Israel posters were posted outside the residence. An FIR has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot). Delhi Police are currently examining CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.

Owaisi condemned the incident on social media, posting images of the vandalism and challenging those responsible to confront him directly. He characterized their actions as "Savarkar-type cowardly behavior" and called on them to cease such tactics. In his message, Owaisi asserted, "To the two-bit goons who keep targeting my house: this does not scare me. Stop this Savarkar-type cowardly behavior and be man enough to face me. Do not scurry away after throwing some ink or pelting a few stones."

Police investigations are ongoing as they work to apprehend the suspects involved in the vandalism.

The incident follows controversy surrounding Owaisi's remarks during his oath-taking in the Lok Sabha, where he expressed support for a conflict-affected nation in West Asia. His comments drew criticism from BJP members, to which Owaisi responded by defending his statement, maintaining that it was within his rights to express such views.
