"Assaulted victim, left, got murder update on WhatsApp," says Kannada actor Darshan

The arrest of Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his wife Pavithra Gowda in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy has unveiled disturbing details of their alleged involvement and manipulation tactics. It is reported that Darshan utilized his clout and enlisted the help of a member from his fan club to orchestrate the gruesome act.

The victim, Renukaswamy, purportedly resorted to sending abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda through a fake Instagram account, inciting Darshan's ire. As investigations progress, authorities are delving into these claims, including the lewd messages exchanged between Renukaswamy and Pavithra.

The startling revelation surfaced when three individuals confessed to the murder, disclosing that they were coerced into taking the blame by Darshan himself. Allegedly promised a sum of Rs 5 lakh and assured coverage of their legal expenses, they were instructed to keep Darshan's involvement clandestine.

Sources indicate that Pavithra played a pivotal role in instigating Darshan to seek retaliation against Renukaswamy. Raghavendra, Darshan's fan club convenor, was allegedly tasked with gathering information about Renukaswamy's whereabouts.

On the fateful night, Renukaswamy was abducted and taken to a shed in Kamakshipalya, purportedly at the behest of Darshan. It is reported that Darshan arrived later that evening and physically assaulted Renukaswamy with a belt.

Subsequently, Darshan purportedly left the scene while Renukaswamy was subjected to further violence by the perpetrators. Pradosh, one of the assailants, allegedly informed Darshan of Renukaswamy's demise and received Rs 30 lakh in cash to mitigate the aftermath.

Following the exchange of money, the perpetrators agreed to dispose of the body and eventually surrendered to the police. It is revealed that Pradosh initially handed them Rs 5 lakh, with the promise of the remaining sum after the trial.

The investigation gained momentum after Renukaswamy's body was discovered by a food delivery boy in a stormwater drain. Initially reported as a murder over a financial dispute, Darshan and Pavithra's complicity in the crime came to light, leading to their arrest alongside 11 others.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Darshan was kept abreast of the unfolding events via WhatsApp throughout the night. Both Darshan and Pavithra were apprehended from Darshan's farmhouse in Mysuru and subsequently brought to Bengaluru for further questioning.

The duo, along with the other accused, underwent a spot inquest at the shed in Pattangere, corroborating with CCTV visuals. Currently, they are remanded to six days of police custody, while authorities continue their probe, aiming to apprehend four additional suspects who remain at large.
