An Air Canada flight (AC43) from Delhi to Toronto received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday, which was later confirmed to be a hoax.
The flight, scheduled to take off at approximately 10:50 pm, was moved to an isolation bay for the necessary aircraft screening process to ensure passenger safety.
Officials reported that the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) office received the bomb threat email at 10:50 pm on Tuesday.Â
"Following standard security protocols, a thorough inspection was conducted and nothing suspicious was found," stated a senior police officer.
Legal action is being pursued in response to the threat, according to the police.
This incident follows a similar event last week when a Paris-Mumbai Vistara flight received a bomb threat in the form of a handwritten note on an airsickness bag, as reported by a source.
Additionally, a Delhi-Srinagar Vistara flight carrying 177 passengers received a mid-air bomb threat on Friday. The plane landed safely in Srinagar, and all passengers and crew were evacuated.
