Chandrababu Naidu promises to uphold Hindu faith and "cleanse" Tirupati authority

Just one day after being sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his family, visited the Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala to offer prayers.

The newly inaugurated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, chose to make his first pilgrimage to the revered Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala on Thursday. Following his fourth oath-taking ceremony in Vijayawada, Naidu paid his respects at the temple and committed to "cleansing" the administration of Tirupati-Tirumala.

During his address to the media, Chief Minister Naidu accused the previous administration under Jagan Mohan Reddy of irregularities in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the body responsible for overseeing the Venkateswara temple. The TDP leader declared his dedication to rooting out corruption and upholding 'Hindu Dharma' in Tirumala.

"I will initiate the purification of governance starting with Tirumala. Any desecration of Tirumala is unacceptable. The only sound that should resonate in Tirumala is the chanting of Govinda's name," he stated.

He further criticized the former government for "commercializing the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam."

"Prasadam should be of high quality, prices should not be increased, and tickets for 'Darshan' should not be sold on the black market. They have transformed this sacred place into a hub for marijuana, liquor, and non-vegetarian food. The cleansing will begin with TTD," Naidu asserted.

Naidu vowed to work relentlessly towards creating a poverty-free society and elevating Andhra Pradesh to the top state in India. He also issued a stern warning that crimes and corruption would not be tolerated, ensuring accountability and transparency in governance.

"By 2047, the Telugu people will be the foremost community in the world. I will make Andhra Pradesh the leading state in the country. Crime will not be tolerated... Some individuals are making false accusations against us after committing crimes themselves. Political conspiracies will not be tolerated. We will protect the virtuous and punish the wicked," the TDP chief said.

Accompanied by his family, including his wife, son Nara Lokesh, daughter-in-law, and other relatives, the Chief Minister took a special flight to Tirupati last evening. They then traveled by road to Tirumala, where they spent the night. Early Thursday morning, he offered prayers at the sacred hill temple.

Later today, Naidu is scheduled to return to Amaravati to assume his duties at the Secretariat. Sources indicated that among the documents he will sign are those related to election promises, the recruitment of teachers, and enhancements to social pensions for beneficiaries.
