An IndiGo flight, 6E 5314, flying from Chennai to Mumbai, made an emergency landing at Mumbai Airport following a bomb threat. After landing, the flight crew adhered to protocol, and the aircraft was directed to an isolation bay in line with security agency guidelines.
All passengers safely disembarked from the aircraft, which is currently undergoing inspection. Once all security checks are completed, the aircraft will be returned to the terminal area.
This is the second such incident involving a bomb threat to an IndiGo flight within a week. On May 28, a similar threat was received on a flight from Delhi to Varanasi. In that incident, passengers were evacuated via emergency exits at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. However, video clips revealed that passengers and crew were seen exiting the plane with their cabin baggage, contrary to safety guidelines.
As a result, IndiGo derostered two pilots and four cabin crew members for disregarding safety protocols during the evacuation process.
