Dharmapuri Srinivas, 76, a senior Congress leader, passes away from a heart attack



Dharmapuri Srinivas, a senior Congress leader and former president of the Andhra Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee, passed away at the age of 76 due to a heart attack in Telangana. He succumbed to a heart attack in the early hours of Saturday. As reported by news agency ANI, his family mentioned that Srinivas had been battling illness for some time and ultimately passed away due to a heart attack at 3 am on Saturday.

Srinivas held various significant roles throughout his career, including serving as the president of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Pradesh Congress Committee, a minister, and a Member of Parliament. He is survived by his two sons, one of whom is currently an MP representing Nizamabad. His elder son, Sanjay, has previously served as the Mayor of Nizamabad.

Upon hearing the news of his passing, Telangana Minister for Transport and BC Welfare, Ponnam Prabhakar, extended his condolences. Additionally, Dansari Anasuya Seethakka, Telangana's Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (including Rural Water Supply), and Women and Child Welfare, also conveyed her deepest sympathies to Srinivas's family.
