Drone ban and G20-style measures: Delhi gets ready for the swearing-in of Narendra Modi



For Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on June 9, extensive security arrangements have been implemented in Delhi. The city will be on high alert with a multi-layered security setup involving paramilitary personnel, NSG commandos, drones, and snipers to ensure the safety of the event.

### Security Measures:

1. **Personnel Deployment**:
   - Five companies of paramilitary personnel.
   - NSG commandos.
   - Snipers deployed at strategic locations and high-rise buildings.
   - Around 2500 police personnel, including Delhi Armed Police (DAP) jawans, will be stationed around the venue.

2. **Technology and Surveillance**:
   - Drones will monitor strategic locations.
   - Artificial Intelligence technology and intrusion warning systems for scanning and facial recognition.
   - CCTV cameras and facial recognition systems will be extensively used.

3. **Venue Security**:
   - Three-layered security inside and outside the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
   - Commandoes from Delhi Police's SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics) and NSG around the President's house and strategic points.

4. **Traffic and Movement**:
   - Designated routes for dignitaries from their hotels to the venue.
   - Traffic diversions in central Delhi.
   - Enhanced checking at Delhi's borders starting Saturday.

5. **Prohibitions**:
   - Flying of certain objects prohibited in Delhi as per an official notice from the Delhi Police.

- **SAARC and Indian Ocean Region Leaders**:
  - Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
  - Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu.
  - Vice President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif.
  - Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
  - Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth.
  - Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
  - Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay.

- **Special Invitees**:
  - Labourers working on the Central Vista project.
  - Staff and employees from the railways department working on Vande Bharat and metro trains.
  - Members of the transgender community.
  - Sanitation workers from the public health department.
  - Beneficiaries of Central government schemes.
  - Viksit Bharat ambassadors.

### Post-Ceremony Event:

Following the swearing-in, a banquet will be hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan for the attending leaders and special invitees.
