During a sexual assault, Suraj Revanna told a JD(S) worker, "I'll be better next time"

Karnataka MLC Suraj Revanna, who has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a Janata Dal (Secular) worker, is accused of having sex with the worker despite his objections. According to the FIR, Suraj Revanna reassured the victim that the experience would be "better next time."

Suraj Revanna, who is the brother of Prajwal Revanna, a former JD(S) MP accused of rape, engaged in sexual activities with the party worker at his farmhouse in Gannikada, Hassan, Karnataka on June 16. The FIR details the ordeal the party worker faced during the assault by Suraj Revanna.

During the incident, Suraj Revanna allegedly told the victim it was his first time having sex with him and that it would improve in the future. He also promised the victim a job if he agreed to stay with him.

According to the FIR, Suraj Revanna invited the worker to his farmhouse around 2 PM on June 16, instructing him to arrive between 6:00 PM and 6:15 PM. The worker complied and arrived at the designated time.

When the JD(S) worker entered the room, Suraj directed him to close the door. Without warning, Suraj began by placing his hands on the victim's shoulders, then caressing his ears before kissing him. The situation quickly escalated, with Suraj biting the worker's lips and offering career support if he complied with his advances.

Overcome with fear, the victim protested, but Suraj responded with threats, invoking his family's influence and threatening to kill the worker if he continued to resist. The FIR states that Suraj dragged the victim to his bedroom, where he hugged him tightly, bit his cheeks, and touched his private parts. The assault continued with forced oral and anal sex, despite the victim's clear discomfort and pleas for it to stop.

During the attack, the victim cried and begged at Suraj Revanna's feet for the assault to end, but Suraj continued, rationalizing that it would become easier over time. Suraj then kissed the victim and assured him of help advancing his political career and getting a job, but only if the worker obeyed him unconditionally, met him whenever summoned, and responded to his messages.

Suraj demanded an apology from the victim for not cooperating during the assault and instructed him to reply to his message once he returned home. He also told the victim to relax and wished him good night.

The party worker fell into depression after the incident and later confided in Suraj Revanna's aide, Shivakumar, from Hanumanahalli village.

Suraj Revanna met the victim during the Lok Sabha elections in Kollangi village, Hassan, and they exchanged phone numbers. Suraj later sent messages to the victim, expressing his desire to meet him. Initially, the victim agreed to meet in Arkalgud, Hassan, but Suraj insisted on meeting at his farmhouse instead. Suraj continued to send messages, including "good morning" and "good evening" with heart emojis.

On June 17, around 10:11 PM, the JD(S) worker messaged Suraj Revanna, expressing his hurt and stating that his family had scolded him after he confessed to them, leading him to avoid going home. The victim asked Suraj and Shivakumar for support, saying his life had been ruined. Later that night, Shivakumar picked up the victim, suggesting that money would be provided but warning him against speaking out or filing a complaint, under threat of being killed.

The next day, Shivakumar pressured the worker to accept a deal involving a sum of 2 crores and a job as compensation, as proposed by Suraj Revanna over the phone. Due to health issues following the assault, Suraj instructed that Shivakumar would handle any hospital registration, forbidding the victim from doing it himself. The victim refused the terms, fearing for his life, and fled to his paternal uncle's house.

On June 19, Shivakumar confronted the victim again, reiterating the threat if he disclosed the incident. Determined to seek justice, the victim messaged Suraj, stating that justice must be served. He also communicated this to Shivakumar.

That evening, Shivakumar intercepted the worker and took him to a lodge in Holenarasipura, pressuring him to pay Rs 1,000. The victim managed to escape that night and fled to Bengaluru. Shivakumar then blackmailed the worker, threatening to file an extortion case against him.

Desperate and in fear, the JD(S) worker went to the DGP's office with a written complaint, sending a photo of it to Suraj and Shivakumar, indicating his intention to file it before deleting the message, according to the FIR.

The victim assured in his complaint that he possessed the necessary evidence and emphasized the life threat from Suraj Revanna to himself and his family.
