ED raids locations connected to KCR's brother in illegal mining and the party's MLA

On Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate carried out raids at eight locations in Telangana associated with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy and his brother Gudem Madhusudan Reddy in connection with a money laundering case related to suspected illegal mining activities.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi is the political party led by Telangana's former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The probe agency conducted searches at eight different sites, including in Hyderabad, as part of the investigation involving alleged proceeds of crime amounting to approximately Rs 300 crore.

The targeted locations included the residence of Mahipal Reddy, who represents the Patancheru constituency in Sangareddy district.

Additionally, the premises of a quarrying company associated with Madhusudan Reddy were also subject to search operations.

Madhusudan Reddy had been previously arrested in March in connection with the ongoing investigation initiated following a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Telangana Police concerning purported illegal mining activities.
