In the sex recordings case, Prajwal Revanna's bail request was denied

On Tuesday, a Bengaluru court denied bail to former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in the sex tapes case, emphasizing the gravity of the charges against him, which now include Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (rape charges).

Revanna, 33, was arrested by Karnataka Police on May 31 at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport upon his return from Germany. He faces multiple allegations of rape and sexual abuse against several women and is currently in judicial custody.

A fourth case was registered against Revanna on Tuesday, involving charges of sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation. This new case emerged after accusations that he recorded a video call and shared it with others.

Revanna, a former MP from Hassan, had previously been implicated in three other sexual assault cases. These allegations came to light after pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly featuring Revanna were circulated in Hassan ahead of the Lok Sabha polls on April 26. The JD(S) subsequently suspended him from the party following these allegations.

In a related development, Prajwal Revanna's father, HD Revanna, was also arrested last month on charges of sexual harassment and kidnapping. He was granted bail a few days after his arrest.
