In Varanasi, PM Modi produces Rs 20,000 crore for farmers as part of the PM-Kisan plan



Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Varanasi, released Rs 20,000 crore under the PM-Kisan scheme, benefitting more than 9.26 crore farmers across the country. This event marked his first visit to his Lok Sabha constituency after beginning his third consecutive term as Prime Minister.

The occasion, known as the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan, saw Modi authorize the release of the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi soon after assuming office. The funds were disbursed directly to the farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer.

The event was attended by prominent figures including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and deputy chief ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, who welcomed Prime Minister Modi.
