JP Nadda will join the Modi 3.0 administration, and the BJP will name a new leader

BJP President JP Nadda has transitioned from leading the party's organizational structure to joining the Modi 3.0 ministry. Nadda took the oath of office as a minister on Friday, following Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah. Given the BJP's principle of 'one person, one post,' a new party president will soon be appointed.

Nadda has been the BJP's 11th President since 2022, succeeding Amit Shah, who became the Home Minister in May 2019. Under Nadda's leadership, the BJP fought the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, contesting 441 seats and securing 240. Although the party fell short of the 272 seats needed for an outright majority, it was able to form the government with the support of allies like the TDP and JD(U).

Nadda's leadership played a crucial role in the BJP's performance in the 2024 elections. His tenure as party president followed the successful stints of Amit Shah, under whom the BJP contested both the 2014 and 2019 elections successfully. Nadda's move to the Union Cabinet marks a significant change in the party's leadership dynamics, as it prepares to appoint a new president to continue its organizational work and strategic planning for future elections.
