Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu is among the foreign leaders invited to Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony for his third consecutive term as Prime Minister, scheduled for June 9.
Other notable attendees include Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
The recent Lok Sabha election results saw the NDA winning 293 seats, securing Modi's third term as Prime Minister. Following the election results, PM-elect Modi invited his Sri Lankan counterpart and had a phone conversation with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, where they pledged to continue collaborating towards their respective visions of 'Viksit Bharat 2047' and 'Smart Bangladesh 2041'.
During the swearing-in ceremony for Modi's second term in 2019, leaders from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, and Bhutan were invited, with around 8,000 delegates attending.
