Cases against Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) MLA Bedi Ram have been registered in multiple states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, primarily for his alleged involvement in leaking exam papers. According to his affidavit, eight out of nine cases against him are related to various paper leak scandals.
In Jaipur in 2009, the Special Operations Group (SOG) filed an FIR against Bedi Ram in connection with a railway recruitment paper leak case. The Special Task Force (STF) in Bhopal has also registered two FIRs against him related to paper leaks in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission examinations. In 2006, Bedi Ram was booked under the Gangster Act for allegedly leaking question papers for railway recruitment exams, with another case registered two years later in Gomti Nagar.
Further instances include an FIR filed in 2010 in Madiahu, Jaunpur, related to the leak of police recruitment exam papers, with another case in 2014.
Recently, a viral video showed Bedi Ram claiming to have facilitated the passing of candidates in competitive exams across states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana, leading to criticism from the Congress party. They highlighted his previous incarceration in a paper leak case before his tenure as an MLA.
The Congress has also questioned the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, alleging possible BJP involvement in the paper leak scandals due to SBSP's affiliation with the NDA alliance.
These developments underscore ongoing concerns regarding integrity in competitive examinations and the legal challenges faced by Bedi Ram in multiple states over alleged paper leaks.
