Throughout the history of the Indian Lok Sabha, several couples have served as members, demonstrating both their political influence and commitment. Here are some notable examples:

### 18th Lok Sabha

**Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav**:
- Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief, represents the Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency.
- Dimple Yadav, his wife, represents the Mainpuri seat.
- Both have previously served in the 17th Lok Sabha but not simultaneously. Akhilesh resigned from the Lok Sabha in March 2022 after being elected as an MLA from the Karhal seat. Following Mulayam Yadav's death, Dimple won the Mainpuri seat in a 2022 by-election.

### Historical Examples

**AK Gopalan and Suseela Gopalan (4th Lok Sabha, 1967-1970)**:
- AK Gopalan was a freedom fighter, social reformer, and chief architect of the Communist Party. He represented the Palghat seat in Kerala multiple times between 1952 and 1977.
- Suseela Gopalan, his wife, was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chirayinkil, Kerala, in 1967, and later re-elected in 1980 and 1991.

**Satyendra Narayan Sinha and Kishori Sinha (7th & 8th Lok Sabha, 1980-1989)**:
- Satyendra Narayan Sinha was a freedom fighter and six-time MP from Aurangabad, Bihar. He also served as Chief Minister of Bihar.
- Kishori Sinha represented the Vaishali seat in the Lok Sabha during the same period.

**Chaudhary Charan Singh and Gayatri Devi (7th Lok Sabha, 1980-1984)**:
- Former Prime Minister Charan Singh served three terms as an MP and was elected from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, in 1980.
