Prajwal Revanna is dealing with a new instance of stalking and sexual harassment

Prajwal Revanna is now facing a fourth legal case involving allegations of sexual harassment and violations of the Information Technology Act, due to claims that he recorded and shared a video call without consent. Additionally, former BJP MLA Preetham Gowda has been implicated in this case.

This new case was officially registered against Prajwal Revanna, who was apprehended by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) upon his return to Bengaluru on May 31. He is currently in judicial custody, which has been extended until June 24.

According to the details provided, the latest case against Revanna includes accusations of sexual harassment, stalking, and criminal intimidation. It was filed at the Crime Investigation Department (CID) office. These charges arose after Revanna was accused of recording a video call and distributing it to others.

Former BJP MLA from Hassan, Preetham Gowda, along with two other individuals, has also been named for disseminating the image alongside Prajwal Revanna.

The charges against Revanna fall under Section 354 ABD of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 66E of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

On Monday, a court in Bengaluru remanded Revanna, who had been arrested on separate charges of rape and sexual abuse involving multiple women, to 14 days of judicial custody. As his custody under the SIT, which is investigating these cases, concluded on Monday, he was brought before the magistrate who ordered his judicial custody to continue until July 8.

In the meantime, Revanna's bail application was presented before the Additional City Civil and Sessions Judge, who reserved the decision for June 26.

Revanna had previously been charged in three separate cases of sexual assault, which included allegations of rape. The instances of sexual abuse came to public attention after pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly involving Revanna were circulated in Hassan ahead of the Lok Sabha elections on April 26.

Following these accusations, the Janata Dal (Secular) party (JD(S)) suspended him from their membership.
