Silence on Slap Row is countered by Kangana Ranaut's 'cool with rape, murder' statement

Kangana Ranaut, following the controversy in which she alleged she was slapped by a CISF constable at the Chandigarh airport, emphasized the need to examine the deeper psychological tendencies behind criminal behaviors. She linked minor assaults to more serious crimes like rape and murder, suggesting that people who commit such acts may have deeper, unresolved psychological issues.

In a post on X, Kangana expressed that individuals who violate personal boundaries might also be capable of more severe crimes. She wrote, "Every rapist, murderer, or thief always has a strong emotional, physical, psychological, or financial reason to commit a crime. No crime ever happens without a reason, yet they are convicted and sentenced to jail."

She continued, "Remember if you are okay with breaking into someone's intimate zone, without their permission touching their bodies and assaulting them, then deep down you are okay with rape or murder also because that's also just penetration or stab only what big deal. You must look deeper into your psychological criminal tendencies. I suggest please take up yoga and meditation, or else life will become a bitter and burdensome experience. Don’t carry so much grudge, hate, and jealousy. Please, free yourself."

On June 6, Kangana, who is also a newly-elected BJP MP, alleged she was slapped by CISF Constable Kulwinder Kaur at the Chandigarh airport. Following the incident, the constable was suspended, and a case was lodged against her.

In a now-deleted post, Kangana criticized Bollywood for not supporting her in the matter. She pointed out the silence of her industry peers and called for a deeper understanding of the psychological roots of such aggressive behaviors.

Kangana Ranaut's recent election victory made her only the fourth woman ever to be elected to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh, and the first who is not from an erstwhile royal family. She defeated her Congress rival Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 74,755 votes from the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency.
