Sources: Four gunmen are in custody after a plot to kill Salman Khan in a car was thwarted

Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's criminal network allegedly plotted to assassinate Bollywood actor Salman Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. The plan involved intercepting Khan's car and shooting him with AK-47 rifles. Four shooters associated with Bishnoi's gang were arrested by the police in Panvel in connection with the conspiracy.

The arrested individuals were identified as Dhananjay Tapsingh alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan. They had reportedly conducted surveillance of Khan's farmhouse and shooting locations.

Videos recovered from the shooters' mobile phones allegedly contained instructions to attack Khan using various weapons, in addition to AK-47 rifles. Ajay Kashyap, during interrogation, purportedly disclosed his communication with an arms dealer named Doga in Pakistan, aiming to procure M16, AK-47, and AK-92 rifles for the planned attack.

One of the videos recovered from the shooters showed Kashyap discussing the plan with his associate, mentioning receiving payment from Canada through gangster Goldie Brar upon completing the task.

Investigators revealed that Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar promised substantial rewards to the shooters if they successfully assassinated Khan.

This development occurred following an incident on April 14 when two individuals on a motorcycle fired shots outside Khan's residence in Mumbai's Bandra area. The suspects, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, were apprehended in Gujarat, while a third accused, Anuj Thapan, died in custody on May 1. Mumbai Police invoked sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those involved in the shooting, identifying gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as the mastermind behind the attack.
