Tamil Nadu cop hurt after being attacked with a knife by phone snatchers

In Tamil Nadu's Tiruchi district, a police constable was injured following an attack by a gang of mobile snatchers when he attempted to intercept them. The assailants, who turned out to be minors, were subsequently detained after the incident.

According to police reports, Constable Abdul Kadhar and his team were conducting their night patrol at the city's bus stand when they received intelligence about a three-member gang involved in phone snatching in the Kalaigrnar Library area of Tiruchi.

Upon receiving this information, Kadhar and his team swiftly proceeded to the specified location to apprehend the suspects. However, the phone snatchers managed to evade immediate capture and fled the scene.

The police team then pursued the gang for nearly two kilometers, eventually cornering them near the Anna statue. During the confrontation, one of the suspects brandished a knife and attacked Constable Kadhar, resulting in injuries to his neck and hand.

Despite the attack, the police team successfully detained the suspects, who were later identified as minors.

Constable Kadhar was promptly taken to a local hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries.
