Mumbai Police have arrested a fifth suspect, Deepak Gogalia alias Johnny Valmiki, in connection with the foiled assassination plot against Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The suspect was apprehended in Rajasthan.
The police investigation revealed that jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang had devised a plan to kill Khan near his farmhouse in Panvel. The plan involved stopping Khan's car and shooting him with AK-47 rifles. Four shooters from the Bishnoi gang have already been arrested in connection with this plot.
Further details emerged that the gang intended to procure weapons from Pakistan for the assassination. For this purpose, they contacted an arms dealer named Dogra. The arrested shooters, Dhananjay Tapsingh alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan, had conducted reconnaissance missions at Khan's farmhouse and his home in Bandra.
Videos recovered from the accused's mobile phones provided evidence of the plan, showing instructions to attack Salman Khan using AK-47 rifles and other weapons. One video allegedly shows Ajay Kashyap instructing another accused, stating that Khan would be "taught a lesson" once the weapons were received and funds were provided from Canada by gangster Goldie Brar.
