A private vehicle belonging to the Uttar Pradesh home guard chief caught fire after it broke down midway in Muzaffarnagar. The official, along with three other individuals, managed to escape safely following the incident.
On Friday, the local fire department reported that a private car, carrying four people, suddenly broke down and caught fire in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
The four passengers, including the car's owner, UP home guard chief Arun Kumar Thakur, noticed smoke coming from the vehicle and quickly exited to safety. The car was headed to the nearby Aghoriya Bazaar at the time. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The incident occurred as the four individuals were on their way to the market for personal errands. The car catching fire caused a brief moment of chaos in the area. Local residents promptly informed the fire department about the situation.
According to Thakur, the car unexpectedly broke down while he and the three others were en route to the market, and it quickly filled with smoke. They all managed to get out of the car and reached safety without any injuries.
Fire Department Commandant Trilok Nath Jha stated, "Upon receiving information about the fire, we immediately dispatched our team to the scene. A fire tender was also sent, and the blaze was extinguished after a half-hour firefighting operation. The exact cause of the car fire is still undetermined."
