A viral video depicting a man performing risky stunts on a moving bike in Kanpur has prompted the local authorities to take action. The Kanpur Police lodged an FIR against the individual after the video surfaced on social media platforms.
In the video, the man can be observed attempting to replicate the iconic 'Titanic' pose while standing on the moving bike. The incident reportedly occurred in the Ganga Barrage area of the city, falling within the jurisdiction of the Nawanganj Police Station.
In response to the viral video, the Kanpur Police initiated legal action against the man under section 336 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to endangering the life or safety of others. Additionally, a fine of Rs 12,000 was imposed on him by the Unnao Police, as the bike in question was registered in Unnao, under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Mahesh Kumar of the Kanpur Police addressed the media, stating, "Today, a bike stunt video is going viral on social media. The video is of an area that comes under the jurisdiction of Nawabganj Police Station. Police have immediately taken cognizance of the video. A case is going to be registered under section 336 of the IPC. Through the number plate details, we found out that the bike was registered in Unnao. We have also directed the Unnao Police to impose a penalty under the MV Act ..."
This incident echoes a previous occurrence in Kanpur, where another individual was fined by the local authorities for performing a dangerous wheelie stunt on his bike in front of police officers. He was penalized Rs 5,000 for his actions.
