A 40-year-old man was detained in Andhra for allegedly trying to rape a 6-month-old infant



In Andhra Pradesh's Vijayanagaram district, a disturbing incident unfolded where a 40-year-old man, Boyina Verikkayya Dora, was arrested on allegations of attempting to sexually assault a six-month-old baby. The accused, identified as a distant relative residing in a neighboring village, reportedly made the attempt on Saturday. Upon discovery of the incident by the baby's family, Dora fled the scene but was later captured by police after a concerted effort.

Law enforcement officials have stated that the baby girl has been promptly provided with medical care. Dora faces charges under the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which is designed to safeguard minors from such heinous crimes. He is scheduled to be presented before a magistrate for legal proceedings.
