Ahead of the Anant-Radhika wedding, the Ambanis arrange a mass wedding for fifty couples

Nita and Mukesh Ambani organized a mass wedding for over 50 underprivileged couples from Maharashtra's Palghar on July 2. This philanthropic event took place ahead of their youngest son Anant Ambani's wedding to Radhika Merchant, which is set for July 12 in Mumbai.

The mass wedding was held at the Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, attended by approximately 800 family members of the couples. Nita and Mukesh Ambani were present, along with Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, and Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal.

Each couple received gold ornaments, including mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings, along with silver ornaments such as toe rings and anklets. Additionally, each bride was given a cheque of Rs 1.01 lakh as her ‘streedhan.’ The couples were also provided with a year’s worth of groceries and household items, including 36 essential items, utensils, appliances like a gas stove, mixer, and fan, as well as a mattress and pillows.

A grand dinner was organized, and guests were treated to the traditional Tarpa dance performed by the Warli Tribe, adding a cultural touch to the evening.

The Ambani family adheres to the principle "manav seva hi madhav seva" (service to humanity is service to God) and has a tradition of beginning major family occasions by serving the community, reflecting their commitment to philanthropy.

The wedding festivities for Anant Ambani began with an intimate puja ceremony at the Ambanis’ Mumbai residence, Antilia, on June 29. The wedding will be held on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The celebrations will span three days, featuring events titled 'Shubh Vivaah' on July 12, 'Shubh Aashirwad' on July 13, and 'Mangal Utsav' or the wedding reception on July 14.
