Along the Line of Control near Poonch, J&K, army forces engage a Pakistani drone

Army troops fired upon a suspected Pakistani drone along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district on Monday night, officials said. The incident occurred when Indian troops detected the drone hovering over Indian territory around 9:15 pm at a height of over 1,000 meters.

The soldiers fired five rounds within ten minutes in an attempt to shoot it down, but the drone managed to return to Pakistan after briefly hovering over Indian territory.

Later, after more than half an hour, the drone was spotted again entering Indian territory. This time, the troops fired two more rounds, causing the drone to return to the other side once again.

In response to the drone's activity, the Army troops launched a search operation in the forward villages with the first light of day to ensure that no weapons or narcotics had been dropped by the drones.

Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 3 lakh for anyone providing information about drones flown from across the border to drop weapons and narcotics, leading to the recovery of such materials.
