An Indian man from Tamil Nadu was killed by stabbing after his marriage without his consent

In Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar district, a 26-year-old man named Karthikpandi was brutally murdered by his wife's relatives on Wednesday night. Karthikpandi had married 22-year-old Nandhini eight months prior, despite her family's objections.

On July 24, while Karthikpandi was picking up Nandhini from her workplace at a supermarket, he was attacked by her relatives with a sharp object. Police were alerted and rushed Karthikpandi to Virudhunagar District Hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival.

The police have registered a case against Nandhini's brothers, Balamurugan and Dhanabalamurugan, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the suspects, who are currently absconding.

This incident echoes a similar tragedy from last year, where a man named Jagan was murdered by his wife's relatives on the Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri national highway. Jagan had married a woman named Saranya against her family's wishes, and his family alleged that his death was orchestrated by his wife's relatives.
