An old man in Hyderabad is hit by a train and dies; his body is discovered hanging on the engine

An unidentified elderly man, estimated to be between 65 and 70 years old, tragically died after being struck by a train on the outskirts of the city. The incident, which was reported by the Government Railway Police (GRP), took place on Tuesday between the Bibinagar and Ghatkesar railway stations. The man's body was subsequently discovered hanging from the locomotive of an empty rake, a shocking sight that was captured and broadcast by local television channels.

The GRP investigation official who visited the scene provided more details about the incident. According to the official, the man was trespassing on the railway tracks when he was struck by the empty rake, leading to his instant death. The exact circumstances of why the man was on the tracks remain unclear, but it was confirmed that he was not authorized to be in that area, hence being classified as trespassing.

Local television channels aired a purported video showing the gruesome image of the man's body hanging from the moving locomotive, which brought the incident to public attention and underscored the severity of the accident.

Following the incident, the GRP registered a case at the RPS Secunderabad station and initiated an investigation. Efforts are currently focused on identifying the deceased man and understanding the events leading up to the accident. The investigation also aims to gather any witnesses or additional evidence that could shed light on the situation. This incident has highlighted the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks and the need for increased safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
