August 13 is Google's Pixel 9 debut date. Other products include the Pixel Watch 3, foldables, and Gemini

Google has announced its upcoming hardware event, scheduled for August 13, where the company will unveil new devices and technologies. Last week, the tech giant revealed that the event will showcase the upcoming flagships, Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Additionally, the post on X (formerly Twitter) mentioned that the new devices will be heavily integrated with Gemini AI, hinting that more details about the AI features powered by Gemini on these smartphones will be unveiled. Moreover, Google will also launch the Google Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2. Notably, Google is releasing its new range of products before the Apple iPhone 16 series, allowing it to stay ahead of Apple. The event is set to commence at 10 AM PT, which means 10:30 PM in India.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is particularly noteworthy as it will be the first foldable smartphone from Google to be launched in India. Last week, Google teased its two most premium upcoming devices, Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, with a 20-second video revealing minimal details aside from the upper half of the rear panel, camera island, and Gemini AI integration. The Google Pixel 9 Pro resembles its predecessor, the Pixel 8 Pro, but the Pixel 9 Pro Fold stands out. It is the second foldable from the company, with the first, the Pixel Fold, not being launched in India. However, this time, Google has confirmed that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in India.

The official teaser shows the Pixel 9 Pro Fold with a stunning design, featuring dual-pill-shaped camera cutouts housed on a rectangular island in the top-left corner of the rear panel. Although the teaser doesn't reveal the camera on the inner screen, rumors indicate that the phone will feature a punch-hole camera on the left side of the screen, a design upgrade from the first fold's bezel-mounted camera, made possible by the reduced bezel size.

The teaser also emphasized the integration of Gemini AI into the devices, with the tagline “A (foldable) phone built for the Gemini era,” setting the stage for AI-themed tech advancements. Gemini was highlighted during the Google I/O event in May, and it appears Google is deliberately separating its consumer hardware announcements from its developer conference, distinguishing consumer-focused products from developer-oriented ones.

Regarding the Google Pixel Watch 3, while there are no official details, online rumors suggest significant upgrades. The Pixel Watch 3 is expected to have a bigger screen and slimmer bezels compared to earlier models. Reports indicate a brighter 2,000-nit display and the inclusion of an ultra-wideband (UWB) chip for advanced location tracking, aligning with Google’s enhanced Find My Device network. The Pixel Watch 3 will reportedly come in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm, and be powered by Qualcomm's W5 chipset with a robust battery life, featuring a 420mAh battery for the larger model.

The event will also unveil the new TWS, Pixel Buds Pro 2. Though official details are scarce, rumors and leaks suggest that the Pixel Buds Pro 2 case might have a 650mAh battery capacity. The earbuds are said to offer up to 31 hours of battery life without noise cancellation, with the charging case supporting both wired and wireless charging.
