Bus in Jammu plunges into a 200-foot gorge, leaving two dead and twenty-five injured

A tragic accident occurred on Saturday in the hilly Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir when a private mini-bus, traveling from Bhalessa to Thathri, skidded off the road and plunged into a 200-foot-deep gorge. The incident resulted in the deaths of two people and left several others injured.

The accident took place around 10:30 am, and immediate rescue efforts were undertaken by the Indian Army and local residents. The injured passengers were transported to the Government Medical College in Doda for treatment.

According to reports, one woman was found dead at the scene, while another succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Nine of the injured individuals are reported to be in critical condition.

This incident follows a similar tragedy a month earlier when a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra in Reasi was attacked by terrorists and subsequently plunged into a gorge, resulting in nine fatalities, including a child. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating that incident.
