Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, who recently celebrated their wedding in Mumbai on July 12, will head to London with their families and friends for further festivities, sources have said. The Ambani family is expected to depart for London within the week.
Anant Ambani, the youngest Ambani heir, married Radhika Merchant, daughter of pharma magnates Viren and Shaila Merchant, in an extravagant ceremony. The event, hailed as the "wedding of the year," took place at the Jio World Drive, a convention center owned by the Ambani family, and was attended by numerous film and media celebrities.
The pre-wedding celebrations began in Jamnagar, Gujarat, featuring performances by pop star Rihanna and various Bollywood celebrities. The festivities continued in June with a luxury cruise party across Italy and the South of France, with entertainment provided by the Backstreet Boys, Pitbull, David Guetta, Katy Perry, and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Singer-songwriter Justin Bieber performed at the 'sangeet' ceremony in Mumbai last week.
Notable attendees at the wedding included former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The celebrations will continue with a grand reception on July 14.
