Vikas Diwedi, a 24-year-old from Soura village in Uttar Pradesh, has become the focal point of a perplexing saga involving repeated snake bites. Despite being bitten seven times before, Vikas was struck again, this time during an evening aarti at the Mehandipur Balaji temple in Rajasthan's Dausa district, making it his eighth snakebite.
The incident unfolded recently while Vikas was participating in the temple ritual. A snake crawled up to him and bit him, an occurrence that left the local community in disbelief. Vikas had previously mentioned experiencing recurring dreams of snake bites every Saturday. On July 14, he dreamt of a snake warning him of an imminent bite on the following Saturday, July 20. Although no incident occurred that day, Vikas was bitten on Monday evening around 7:30 pm during the aarti.
Remarkably, Vikas survived his eighth snakebite without any adverse effects. His aunt, Renu Devi, confirmed that Vikas was bitten on his left leg but showed no symptoms of poisoning after attending the temple ceremony. Vikas had even forewarned his family about the potential bite, citing a twitching sensation in his left eye as an indicator.
Tired of the continuous attention, Vikas has resigned himself to fate, stating, "Whatever happens, good or bad, it's up to Balaji Maharaj now." This unusual case has sparked both interest and concern among local residents, who are intrigued by the mysterious circumstances surrounding Vikas's apparent immunity to snake venom.
