Expected rise in support for Trump following assassination attempt: Bremmer Ian

Ian Bremmer, the founder and president of Eurasia Group, commented that following the assassination attempt on former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, there is expected to be increased support for him. In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Bremmer mentioned that while many supporters of current President Joe Biden are unlikely to switch their votes to Trump merely based on this incident, Trump's own supporters are likely to exhibit higher enthusiasm and turnout due to his strong response.

He emphasized that the upcoming election is anticipated to be closely contested, noting that a majority of Americans have already made firm decisions. Bremmer characterized the current political climate in the US as highly polarized, describing both Trump and Biden as widely unpopular figures with distinctly different visions for the country.

Regarding Biden, Bremmer noted internal dissatisfaction within the Democratic Party, particularly questioning his suitability as a presidential candidate, exacerbated by what he described as a "disastrous" debate performance. He observed a perceived decline in Biden's vigor over recent months but dismissed the likelihood of him being pressured to withdraw from the race. Bremmer highlighted that current attention is largely focused on the attempted assassination of Trump, suggesting that these factors collectively could favor Trump's prospects in the upcoming elections.
