Government of Andhra directs investigation into anomalies in Pulivendula Housing Scheme

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced an investigation into alleged irregularities in the distribution of houses under the Jagananna Housing Scheme in Pulivendula.

Pulivendula assembly constituency, represented by YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, is at the center of this controversy.

The decision to investigate follows a letter from TDP MLC Bhumireddy Rajagopal Reddy to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, where he raised concerns about irregularities in the allocation of houses.

Rajagopal Reddy alleged that during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's tenure as Chief Minister, approval was given for the construction of 8,000 houses for the poor. However, he claimed that ineligible individuals, including wealthy individuals, employees, and residents from other regions, were selected as beneficiaries.

The MLC also criticized the lack of action by the administration despite multiple complaints filed on the matter.

In the recent Andhra Pradesh assembly elections, Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party (TDP) secured a majority with 135 seats out of 175, while the Jana Sena Party won 21 seats and the incumbent YSR Congress Party secured 11 seats.
