Bollywood actor Rakul Preet Singh's brother, Aman Preet Singh, along with four others, was arrested by Hyderabad Police on Monday in connection with an alleged drug case. The Telangana Anti-Narcotics Department discovered that 2.6 kilograms of cocaine were being brought into Hyderabad for sale, leading to the bust of the drug racket. Aman Preet Singh and the other accused were identified among 30 customers of the contraband.
The arrested individuals, including Aman Preet Singh, Aniketh Reddy, Prasad, Madhusudhan, and Nikhil Daman, are currently in police custody. They will undergo medical examinations before being produced in court.
According to Srinivas, DCP of Cyberabad Police, Rajendra Nagar Zone, all five accused tested positive in urine tests conducted at the police station, prompting their arrest and further medical evaluation.
Rakul Preet Singh herself has been previously summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a drug trafficking and consumption case in both 2021 and 2022. She had provided her statement to the probe agency last year. The ED's investigation into the case has been ongoing since a high-end drug cartel bust in 2017 by Telangana's Prohibition and Excise Department, which uncovered the supply of LSD, MDMA, and other narcotics.
