In the CBI's corruption investigation, Arvind Kejriwal's judicial custody has been prolonged until July 25

Following the Supreme Court's grant of interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to the now-scrapped excise policy, a Delhi court has extended the Chief Minister's judicial custody till July 25 in a separate corruption case concerning the alleged liquor policy.

The Supreme Court's bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta referred Kejriwal's petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to a larger bench. They framed three questions under section 19 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) regarding the ED's power, necessity, and policy of arrest. Kejriwal has been granted interim bail under the conditions specified in a previous order from May 10.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 in the money laundering case and subsequently by the CBI on June 26 in connection with the corruption case related to the alleged excise policy. The case revolves around allegations of corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of Delhi's excise policy for 2021-22, which has been annulled since then.
