The incident in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district where two women, Mamta Pandey and Asha Pandey, were partially buried under gravel from a truck has sparked outrage and concern. The women were protesting against the construction of a road on private land in Hinota Jorot village when the gravel was dumped on them.

According to police reports, the women were buried up to their necks in the gravel pile before being rescued by locals and taken to a nearby community health center for treatment. Fortunately, they are reported to be stable and have been discharged from the health center.

A video capturing the incident went viral, prompting swift action from authorities. A case has been registered, and the police have seized the dumper truck involved. One person has been arrested in connection with the incident, while efforts are underway to apprehend the other two suspects who are currently absconding.

ADG Jaideep Prasad described the incident as stemming from a family dispute over alleged land ownership.

The incident has also drawn political reactions, with Congress youth leader Srinivas BV criticizing the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government for its response to the matter. He expressed dismay over what he perceived as silence from various government bodies and officials.
