India creates a novel explosive that can double the bomb and warhead lethality

India has made a significant advancement in defense technology by developing and certifying SEBEX 2, a new explosive with a lethality 2.01 times that of standard TNT (Trinitrotoluene). This breakthrough, now recognized by the Indian Navy, places SEBEX 2 among the most powerful conventional explosives globally.

Developed by Economic Explosives Ltd, a subsidiary of Solar Industries in Nagpur, SEBEX 2 stands out with its high TNT equivalence of 2.01, making it more than twice as lethal as TNT. This is a notable improvement over traditional explosives like DENTEX/TORPEX, which have a TNT equivalence of 1.25-1.30.

Certified by the Indian Navy, SEBEX 2 promises enhanced firepower for various military applications. Its superior blast effect makes it a significant asset for the Indian Armed Forces, potentially revolutionizing the effectiveness of warheads, bombs, and other munitions. This development highlights India's growing prowess in defense technology and its dedication to strengthening its military capabilities through indigenous innovations.
