Joe Biden's July 25 public debut following his withdrawal from the reelection campaign

US President Joe Biden will address the nation on July 25 (IST) from the Oval Office, marking his first public appearance since announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election race. Biden has been in isolation at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, residence since testing positive for COVID-19 last Wednesday.

In his announcement on X, Biden stated, "Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people."

Biden's decision to withdraw from the race follows significant pressure from fellow Democrats after a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump. Despite his withdrawal, Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party's new nominee. In his endorsement, Biden urged Democrats to unite and support Harris to defeat Trump in the upcoming election.

In his message to Americans, Biden emphasized his commitment to serving the remainder of his term, which ends in January. He described his presidency as the greatest honor of his life and expressed his intention to focus on fulfilling his duties for the remainder of his term.
