Kerala Cricket Association faces criticism following a coach's molestation charge

A coach associated with the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has been charged with allegedly molesting minor girls who attended training sessions. In response to this incident, the state Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the association, demanding an explanation.

The accused, Coach Manu, was removed from his position following the filing of the complaint. He had served as a coach with the KCA for the past decade.

The complaint alleges that Manu took the girls to Thenkasi and assaulted them there. Manu is currently under remand as an accused in a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case and is also accused of taking indecent photographs of the children.

The state Human Rights Commission has stated that Manu tortured the children who came for cricket training.

"The incident has caused significant stress among children and their parents. It is said that the KCA was unaware of these activities. After one girl came forward with a complaint, additional children also reported similar experiences," the commission said in a statement.
