Maharashtra would receive over a lakh government jobs, according to Devendra Fadnavis

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Monday that the government would soon fill over one lakh government job posts. Following the formation of the new government under Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in August 2022, the recruitment process for 75,000 positions was initiated.

Fadnavis stated that so far, 57,452 applicants have received appointment letters. He emphasized the transparency of the recruitment process and mentioned plans to introduce a new law to prevent paper leaks in competitive exams, which will be discussed in the current session of the state Assembly.

Additionally, Fadnavis mentioned that 19,853 more students are set to receive their appointment letters soon. He highlighted that the Mahayuti government, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar), has already provided jobs to 77,305 students. The recruitment process for another 31,201 posts is expected to be completed within the next three months.

"This means our government will provide jobs to 108,000 candidates, which is a record," Fadnavis remarked. He reiterated the government's commitment to preventing paper leaks by enforcing a new law, which is also being discussed with the student union.
