Namo Bharat train station's weekly musical event tries to entice more visitors

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced a new initiative to enhance the commuting experience for passengers on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor. Every Friday evening from 6 to 7 pm, the concourse level of the Ghaziabad RRTS Station will host 'Namo Bharat Unplugged: Live Musical Fridays,' featuring live musical performances free of charge. This event, starting on July 26, 2024, will be held near gate number 4 in the unpaid area of the concourse.

The initiative will feature performances by local artisans and music bands, providing a platform for emerging talent to reach a wider audience while creating an engaging and lively atmosphere for commuters. Solo performers, school and college bands, and other up-and-coming musical groups from the National Capital Region (NCR) are invited to contact the NCRTC team to secure a performance spot.

The NCRTC, a joint venture between the Central government and the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, is responsible for constructing the 82-kilometer-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. This project, with a development cost exceeding Rs 30,000 crore, will include 25 stations, two of which are depot stations. The introduction of these musical evenings aims to enrich the travel experience along this significant transit route.
