The petitioners advocating for the annulment of the NEET-UG 2024 results presented a video before the Supreme Court on Monday. This video allegedly demonstrated that the question paper had been leaked on Telegram a day prior to the exam.
The footage, which was accessed by India Today TV, displayed recordings of messages from two different Telegram channels. These messages suggested that the NEET-UG 2024 paper was leaked on May 4 at 9:01 am.
The petitioners assert that the question paper shown in the video is identical to the one that was distributed to students during the exam on May 5.
It should be noted that India Today TV has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.
The petitioners maintain that the video is authentic and serves as evidence of the question paper leak.
Following the hearing, the Supreme Court requested information from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. The court emphasized that a re-test would be necessary if the integrity of the exam had been compromised.
A bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud also asked for details concerning the timing of the question paper leak and the duration between the leak and the actual examination.
The Chief Justice remarked that the question paper leak was an "admitted fact." He further noted that before deciding to hold a re-examination, it was essential to understand the extent of the leak, given that the matter involved 23 lakh students.
