The granddaughter of the former prime minister takes issue with the BJP leader's 'Jaichand' remarks directed at voters

Adrija Manjari Singh, granddaughter of former Prime Minister VP Singh and descendant of the 11th century King Jaichandra, expressed grave concern over BJP leader Raghav Lakhanpal Sharma's recent remarks. Sharma, who contested and lost the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Saharanpur, referred to those who didn't vote for him as 'Jaichand' and "aastin ke saanp" (backstabbers) during a public address.

In response, Adrija Singh, speaking as a Rajput, voiced deep distress over what she termed as anti-Rajput sentiments permeating the 2024 elections. She lamented the divisive nature of the campaign, attributing losses in traditionally Rajput-held seats to deliberate attacks on the community's honor and historical contributions to India.

Singh, known for her advocacy against the political manipulation of historical figures like Raja Jaichandra Gaharwar, condemned the misrepresentation of Rajput history for electoral gains. She emphasized the valor, sacrifices, and leadership legacy of the Rajput community, asserting that their contributions have profoundly shaped India's identity.

Calling for respect and acknowledgment of Rajput's achievements, Adrija Singh underscored her desire for an India where every citizen, regardless of caste or creed, receives equal opportunities and dignity. She highlighted the significant cultural contributions of Maharaja Jaichandra Gaharwar, including his efforts in temple construction and preservation during his reign.

In conclusion, Adrija Singh urged unity and rejection of divisive rhetoric, advocating for an inclusive India that honors its past while embracing a future where the spirit of Kshatriya warriors continues to uplift all citizens.
