Video: Jammu passengers leap from a moving bus after the brakes fail

A bus traveling from Srinagar to Jammu experienced brake failure on Tuesday near Banihal on the Jammu Srinagar National Highway. As the bus continued to move slowly down a hilly slope, a video captured passengers jumping out of the rear door in an attempt to escape the potentially dangerous situation.

The bus was carrying 45 passengers, including seventeen women and one child. Six individuals sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

According to the police, the incident occurred when the bus reached the Nachalana area, and the driver suddenly realized that the vehicle's brakes had failed. Despite the mechanical failure, the driver managed to bring the bus under control, averting what could have been a catastrophic accident.

Local police and army personnel promptly arrived at the scene, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
