Who is 'Bhole Baba', the self-styled godman who caused a stampede during the Hathras satsang

Bhole Baba, also known as Narayan Sakaar Hari or Sakaar Vishwa Hari, left his government job 26 years ago to devote himself to delivering religious sermons. He now has millions of followers across India, including regions like western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi. 

A tragic stampede at one of his satsangs in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, resulted in the deaths of over 80 people and left many others injured. The stampede occurred at the end of a religious gathering led by Bhole Baba. Upon learning of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to promptly reach the site and initiate relief efforts.

Bhole Baba hails from Bahadur village in the Patiali tehsil of Etah district. He claims to have been an employee of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) before he left his government job 26 years ago to start delivering religious sermons.
